HOW DO OUR COATINGS HELP?

Recycling facilities (MRFs) sell bales of PET bottles to reclaimers. It's a reclaimers job to recycle these bottles into PET pellet which can be made into new product.

 Shrink sleeves inhibit recycling of PET bottles by reclaimers due to their inability to separate during the recycling process. Whole bottle PET (with caps) is ground into flakes. Cap resin (non-PET flake) is removed from the grind mix by means on sink-float operation. Shrink sleeves can't be separated by this or other techniques leading to contamination.

Magnomer's magnetizable coatings provide an ability to separate shrink sleeve flake by means of magnetic separation. This is aimed at reducing contamination and increasing quality of post-consumer PET flake.
